Our Story
THE LILLIE LEGACY
Founded by T.R. Lillie in 1937, Lillie Suburban Newspapers stood as a beacon of community news for 82 years to a vast network of East suburban neighborhoods. Synonymous with local storytelling, Lillie’s mission was to serve communities by bridging communication needs through truth, loyalty, integrity and hard work. At the height of their prime, over 118,000 newspapers were delivered each week. By fostering connections, amplifying local voices, and championing shared values, Lillie Suburban Newspaper served as a vital pillar to North Saint Paul and beyond, enriching the fabric of our communities for generations to come.
CONCLUDED
The turn of the century brought with it significant challenges for print media, and despite Lillie's valiant efforts to adapt and evolve, 2019 marked the end of its storied journey. The closure of Lillie Suburban Newspapers reflected a broader trend in the industry, yet it left behind a legacy of journalistic integrity and community service.
